Make sure you read the whole contract…
07 June 2011
In the past several years, many hotels have modified the standard contracts they send their clients. These contracts nowadays are written by lawyers, and they contain certain clauses which can be quite technical…and not always easy to understand the first time you read them.
One of the questions people most often ask me about contracts is:
Q. What’s the difference between an attrition clause and a cancellation clause?
A. An attrition clause allows the client to reduce the number of rooms during the contract period without having to pay a penalty. A cancellation clause imposes penalties if the entire event does not go forward.
It’s very important to read both these clauses and understand what they mean for you and your event.
And remember, if you’re planning an event at Hotel Château Laurier, I’ll be more than happy to help you in any way that I can.
Please feel free to contact me!
