Arrival and Departure

At what time can I check into my room ?

You can check in and have access to your room starting at 4 p.m.

Do you have a luggage room service in case we arrive too early ?

Yes. You may leave your luggage in our luggage room while waiting for your room. Ask our porters for more information.

At what time must I leave my room ?

You must vacate your room by noon (12 p.m.)

Please note that it is possible, upon availability, to request a late departure. To do so, ask for more information at the Reception Desk.

How can I stay informed about your promotions and contests ?

The best way is to follow us on the social networks (Facebook & Twitter). You will then be notified about all the various current promotions. You may also refer to the Promotions and Contests section of our website to stay informed about our current promotions and contests or subscribe to our newsletter on the main page.

Rooms and Breakfast

Is breakfast served in your hotel ?

Located in our hotel, the St-Hubert Restaurant offers breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on weekdays and from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on weekends. The price is $9.95 for the cold buffet and $13.95 for the hot buffet, plus applicable taxes.

Is there room service for breakfast ?

Yes. The St-Hubert Restaurant offers room service for breakfast as well as for noon and evening meals.

Is there air conditioning in the rooms ?

Yes, each room has an air conditioning system.

Which room category do you suggest for families ?

For families, we suggest rooms with two double beds; these are available in the Express, Standard and Superior styles. Our connecting rooms are also convenient.

How many room categories do you offer ?

We offer five room categories: Express, Standard, Superior, Prestige and Deluxe styles, as well as Presidential and Vice-Presidential suites. There are also rooms adapted for people with reduced mobility in each of these categories.

What is your hotel’s maximum occupancy capacity ?

We have more than 289 rooms and suites divided into various categories

Are pets allowed in your hotel ?

Unfortunately, for health reasons and to respect our clients who might have allergies, pets are not allowed in our hotel.

Can meetings be held in one of your rooms ?

Yes. The Presidential and Vice-Presidential suites are perfect for organizing intimate business meetings. Just ask for more information when you make your reservation.

Location and Tourism

Which road should I take to get to your hotel from the Quebec Jean Lesage International Airport?

Since there is no shuttle service between the airport and Downtown Quebec City, we recommend that you take a taxi available at the airport exit. The fare is set at $34.25. You may also reserve a limousine service directly from us for $65 plus applicable taxes and service fees.

How does the bus stop operate ?

From mid-April to mid-October, parking spaces are reserved for buses on Laurier Street, located very close to our hotel. For the rest of the year, the bus stop is a 10-minute drive away in Victoria Park.

What is the weather like in Quebec City during the different seasons ?

In the winter (between mid-December and mid-March), the temperature varies between -10o and -22o Celsius (between 14 and -7 oF). We recommend that you bring warm clothing such as boots, coats, hats, scarves and mittens.

In the spring (between mid-March and May), the temperature varies between 0o and 15o Celsius (between 32 and 60 oF). Rather warm springtime clothing is suggested for daytime and evening wear. The weather in Quebec City is windy and rainy in the spring.

In the summer (between May and the end of August), the weather is pleasant and sunny. The temperature varies between 20o and 30o Celsius (between 68 and 86 oF). You may certainly wear light clothing and bring a sweater for the evening.

In the autumn (from the end of August until mid-December) the thermometer goes down to between 5o and -10o Celsius (between 40 and 14 oF). So a warm coat is recommended.

What is the distance in time between your hotel and the Gare du Palais (train and bus station) ?

We are a 10-minute drive away from the station.

What road should I take to get to your hotel from the Gare du Palais ?

We recommend that you take a taxi from the Gare du Palais. The fare is between $5 and $10.

What is the distance in time between your hotel and Old Quebec’s major attractions ?

We are located near most of Old Quebec’s major tourist attractions such as: Saint-Jean and Cartier Streets, the Dufferin Terrace, the Plains of Abraham, the Quebec National Assembly, as well as Grande Allée Street, on which we are located.

What is the distance in time between your hotel and the Quebec Jean Lesage International Airport ?

We are a 30-minute drive away from the airport and a 3-hour drive away from the Montreal Trudeau International Airport.

How far away are you from the Quebec City Convention Centre ?

A short 10-minute walk will take you to the Quebec City Convention Centre.

Which visits would you suggest in Quebec City? Which tour do you recommend ?

Upon your arrival, our Concierge Staff will be happy to advise and guide you on your visit of the city. As for guided tours, you don’t have to reserve in advance, we will do it for you. We suggest the services of Old Quebec Tours and you may visit their website here.

What are some of the ways to get around in the city ?

You can travel around Quebec City by bus through a public transit system. One-day passes are sold at our hotel’s Reception Desk. The Ecolobus service ($1 trip) is a very good way to get around and visit Old Quebec’s major sites, plus it stops very close to our hotel. A taxi service is also available to get to wherever you want to go. Finally, since we are so close to Old Quebec’s major attractions, you may just simply walk to where you want to go.

Where can I park my vehicle if I’m staying at your hotel ?

We offer safe and heated indoor parking under our hotel. The average daily cost is $21(unlimited in/out access) plus applicable taxes. We also offer valet services (unlimited in/out access) at $4 per day.

Is your website secure for processing online reservations ?

Yes. You can do your transactions without any worry.

Do we have a choice of several menus for our event ?

Yes. Le George V Banquet and Catering Service offers you several possibilities. You may also personalize your menu of choice, our chef is very accommodating. Contact our Sales Department at 1 866-822-9222.

What are your cancellation policies ?

To avoid cancellation fees, you must notify us before 4 p.m. on the day prior to your arrival date. In cases of non-compliance with this policy, the cost of the first night will be charged to your credit card.

For group reservations, this policy may be different. Please refer to your contract or ask your representative for more information.

Reservations made with a travel agent must always be cancelled with the agency. The agent will apply the current hotel policies.

How can I modify my reservation ?

To make changes to your phone reservation, please contact our Reservation Centre at 1-800-463-4453.

For reservations that were made on a website, either our own or one of our suppliers’, you must go back to the website in question to make any changes.

For reservations that were made with your travel agent, please communicate directly with this agent.

Do you offer special prices for local restaurants ?

Yes, for our clients we have special arrangements with six (6) important and famous restaurants in Old Quebec. For more information, take a look at our package deals and our Laurier Treasure Chest.

To get the best possible deal, how should I proceed to make my reservation ?

We have a lowest rate policy available through the Internet. So, if you make your reservation directly on our website, you will get the best possible price! You may also ask about our various current promotions by contacting our Reservation Centre at 1 800-463-4453.

At which time does the payment appear on my credit card ?

Whether you have made your reservation by phone or through the Internet, the payment is usually taken when you leave. However, a pre-authorization of your credit card will be taken upon your arrival and for the duration of your stay.

What taxes are charged to people visiting your city ?

A total of 3 taxes are added to the cost of the room. They are, in the following order: 3% Quebec City tax, 5% federal tax, and 9.975% provincial tax.

Is it possible to make reservations for restaurants or live entertainment shows directly with you ?

We will be happy to make your reservations for various activities or outings. During your stay or after making your reservation, we will simply refer you to our Concierge Staff and they will advise and guide you according to your taste and preferences.

Meeting Rooms and Events

Can we bring our own food in the meeting rooms ?

Food from the outside is not allowed in our meeting rooms because of the strict regulations enforced by the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation. Only wedding cakes from the outside are accepted. Please note that we do offer that service and our pastry chef is excellent!

Do you offer « Green » meetings ?

Yes. We offer an eco-friendly meeting program. Contact our Sales Department at 1 866-822-9222.

What is the occupancy capacity of your biggest meeting room ?

Our Des Plaines meeting room can accommodate up to 480 people in a theatre seating style.

What is your maximum occupancy capacity for events ?

We have 17 meeting rooms and are able to accommodate a total of 1,352 people, for a total surface area of 12,162 square feet available for events.

Do your meeting rooms have natural lighting ?

Yes. About 95% of our meeting rooms have windows and offer a view of Grande Allée, the Plains of Abraham or our outdoor garden. This is one of the reasons why our meeting rooms are preferred by all types of event organizers.

Services and Amenities

Do you offer access to Internet ?

Yes. Access to Internet is available in every room. We have different options at costs depending on duration. However, a fee will be charged for the use of our complete Internet service stations.

Are there areas for smoking ?

No. It is strictly forbidden to smoke inside our hotel at all times. However, smokers may go to our outdoor garden during opening hours.

Do you have a physical fitness room ?

Yes. We have a physical fitness room that is open 24 hours a day and you have access to it with your room card.

Do you offer a dry cleaner service ?

Yes. The service is available from Monday to Friday except for holidays. Leave your clothes to be cleaned before 9 a.m. and you may pick them up at 6 p.m. on the same day.

Do you have a business center for clients ?

Yes. We have two work stations available for our customers as well as photocopying, faxing, high-speed Internet as well as other services.
